Suburban Charm

Charleston’s outlying areas offer a number of communities or suburbs with great schools and easy access to day-to-day services and conveniences, though still close enough to enjoy the benefits of downtown. Homes in these suburban neighborhoods are also usually less per square foot than those downtown, so it can also be a more affordable option for many.

Experience This Lifestyle
Family-Friendly

Charleston’s suburbs are perfect for families with their parks, trails and laid back, easygoing lifestyle. There’s something special about living in a place where kids can ride their bikes and play outside safely, like on Daniel Island and in Park West in Mount Pleasant.

Conveniences

One of the benefits of living in one of our suburban areas is the convenient access to day-to-day needs and services. Town Center in Mount Pleasant has it all with shopping, restaurants and big box stores like Lowe’s. West Ashley residents need only drive down Highway 17.

Schools

Good schools are one of the most important things to consider if you are buying a home with your family in mind. Moultrie Middle and Wando High in Mount Pleasant are both great public schools. On Daniel Island, kids ride their bikes to the Daniel Island School, a public K-8 school.

Best Examples

Mount Pleasant’s excellent public schools and robust recreation programs make it a desirable place to raise a family. Daniel Island is another great place where residents are able to live, work, shop and play right within their immediate community.
