Sandy gained an early appreciation for art, architecture and history during his high school years, when he and his parents lived in Brussels and traveled throughout Europe extensively. This appreciation came in handy when he decided to move to Charleston in 1999. “My brother and his wife had lived here since the early ‘80s on the Isle of Palms and I visited frequently,” says Sandy. “Charleston is the first place I ever moved to that was based purely on my desire to live here, and I’ve honestly never looked back.”
